8 Glasses of Water is a Myth

For my entire life I have been told to drink 8 glasses of water per day. How can this be, I thought? Since we all come in different shapes and sizes and have different levels of activity, etc.

The health industry changes so much. Was was applicable 10 years ago, is irrelevant today. Particularly with the quality of food going down.

So, I found this Hydration Calculator. Now, I’m not saying its 100% accurate but I am saying that it’s something to consider. This calculator takes into consideration some of the following factors in determining how much water we should be drinking per day.

Factors such as:

Pregnancy
Altitude
Climate
Exercise
Weather
Medication
Diet
Overall Health

These all contribute to the amount of water that we need to consume. And…day to day, as these factors fluctuate, your water intake should reflect accordingly!

According to the Hydration Calculator, I should be consuming 72.5 ounces or 2.2 liters per day! Not 64 ounces per day! Just something to think about. How much water do you drink?
