Avocados are Yummy and Good for the Hair
Anyone that knows me knows that I absolutely LOVE avocados. I like them in sushi, soups, salads and on any Mexican dish. There’s only one problem. I am allergic to them. They make my throat and chest itch immediately upon consumption. *insert extremely sad face here*
Horrible, isn’t it? I’d be totally ok with being allergic to something nasty like….beans. Beans are gross. They’re like the worst food ever. On top of that, I have traumatic memories from my childhood of my parents making me sit at the dinner table for hours eating one nasty bean at a time. *bleh*
Anyhow, we aren’t here to discuss beans and how nasty and vile they are. We are discussing avocados. In a perfect world, I’d find a way to eat them every day…at every meal even. Well, maybe that’s going a bit overboard but, you get the picture.
Avocados have so many great benefits to them. How can I take advantage of everything they have to offer if I can’t simply devour them?
Hair and skin! Avocados have great healing properties and benefits for the hair and skin! Genius! If I cannot eat them, I can use them on my hair and body. *shameless compromise*
Here are some great benefits of avocados:
Avocados are high in vitamins B and E, which work at the cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Vitamin B is essential for hair growth. Vitamin E helps repair damage on the scalp, which may slow or prevent hair growing.
Avocado conditioner and masks are an effective natural remedy for treating hair loss and improving the condition of your hair.
Using an avocado conditioner promotes hair that feels soft and is more elastic. The high-fat content of avocados makes hair less dry and prone to breakage.
And there you have it folks! I always say….If you can’t eat them….use them!
How do you use avocados?
